Andre Walker Brewster (b. Dec. 9, 1862, New Jersey-d. March 27, 1942), Major General in the U.S. Army, began his military career with the 10th Infantry in 1885 and moved through the ranks, after graduating from the Army War College in 1907, then serving as Inspector General from 1909 to 1913. William Durward Connor (1874-1960) was born in Beloit, Wisconsin. In 1897 he commissioned in the Army Corps of Engineers from West Point. In 1909 he graduated from the Army War College. During World War I, he served with the American Expeditionary Forces. He made brigadier general in June 1918. From 1919 to 1920, he was commanding general of U.S. forces in France.
